Dementia Action Week takes place from 20th – 26th May 2019 and exists to unite people, workplaces, schools and communities and inspire them to take action and improve the lives of people living with dementia.
Dementia Action Week encourages everyone to take action by starting a conversation; whether it’s calling a relative with dementia or visiting a neighbour, it’s time to start talking.
The work we do within a number of departments within Ramsdens brings us face to face with the many difficulties people living with dementia face and we know what a difference a small gesture can bring.
Throughout the week, we will be producing a series of blogs to help raise awareness of some of the issues surrounding life with dementia.
Events will be taking place up and down the country for Dementia Action Week. From music festivals to information stands, there’s something for everyone and we all have a role to play in helping to build dementia-friendly communities.
Visit the Alzheimers website to see how you too can support Dementia Action Week, maybe by attending an event near you, putting up posters or sharing films on social media.
If you’d like to get a head start on Dementia Action Week then you can visit the Dining 4 Dementia to find a restaurant near you who will be taking on volunteers living with dementia on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May who will work alongside staff to learn new skills while serving the customers.
It’s time to start that conversation……
