A recent report states that the number of domestic abuse victims across London has risen by 15% in two years.

- 62,546 victims in 2014;
- 71,926 victims in 2016; and
- Domestic abuse accounts for almost 1 in 10 criminal offences in London.
London Assembly Labour group leader said that there was an alarming rise in incidents. He has suggested that domestic abusers should be put on a register to protect survivors similar to that used for sex offenders.
Clare's Law is already available to allow people to request information in relation to a partner and ascertain whether that person has a history of domestic violence.
The suggestion of a register could also provide further protection and avoid people becoming victims of domestic violence if they are aware of a perpetrators past.
There are many options and a lot of support for victims and this could be a further step to prevent someone being subject to abuse by a partner.
It is also possible to seek help from the family Court in the form of a Non-Molestation Order.
