The Immigration Act 2016 has introduced a new mandatory ground for possession where a tenant or occupier does not have a right to rent. The section 8 notice has been updated by the Assured Tenancies and Agricultural Occupancies (Forms) (England) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2016 in order to reflect the new ground for possession. All landlords must ensure the new section 8 notice is used as of 1 December 2016, and this can be found in the schedule to the Regulations.
