We have two services areas that have improved on their standing from the 2024 rankings:

Employment (up to Tier 4)

Ramsdens Solicitors LLP advises a range of corporations, from SMEs to PLCs, and offers advice on employment matters regarding senior individuals and complex cases such as discrimination and whistleblowing claims. David Bradley leads the team, offering expertise in trade union relations and change management issues. Paul Booth is experienced in complex employment disputes, such as those involving directors and senior executives, while Gareth Dando is noted for his commercial approach and breadth of employment knowledge.

Commercial Property (up to Tier 4)

The team at Ramsdens Solicitors LLP is noted for its ‘expert knowledge of property law’, often assisting with an array of site and lease acquisitions, planning matters, and development projects relating to affordable housing, residential and the retail sector. Huddersfield's Kirsty Jackson leads the team, regularly handling matters involving office, restaurant, leisure and retail spaces. Gwen Sharp joined the team in January 2023 from Pinsent Masons LLP, and specialises in investments and transactional issues.

At Ramsdens Solicitors LLP, the team is led by Natalie Lang, who is praised as ‘supportive, knowledgeable and shares complex information in relatable ways’. Based in Halifax, the team are specialists in assisting and protecting vulnerable individuals who lack the capacity to deal with their own affairs, and have the expertise to deal with a full range of Court of protection services.

This is the teams first submission to Legal 500 and their recognition is testament to their continued hard work and dedication.

Corporate and Commercial (Tier 5)

Ramsdens Solicitors LLP’s corporate and commercial division is jointly overseen by Stephen Newman and Adam Cockroft, both based in Huddersfield. Areas of activity for Newman include the establishment of Employee Ownership Trusts and tax-driven reconstructions. Cockroft’s expertise encompasses corporate acquisitions and disposals, management buy-ins and mergers. Emma Spragg is another key contact in the Huddersfield office.

Personal Injury: Claimant (Tier 4)

Ramsdens Solicitors LLP is adept at handling a range of personal injury claims, including those involving issues of abuse, serious injuries, and multi-track claims; the practice is also skilled in group action claims. The team is spearheaded by Nick Armitage, who has a wealth of experience and is assisted by Rachel Sharp, Nick Stojanovic and Ian Miles.

Joanne Coen heads up the children law practice, representing children in care proceedings, adoptions, and special guardianship cases.
