As part of the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust #SpectacularSeptember, a team of Ramsdens employees are taking part in the virtual Great North Run on Sunday 13 September.
The Trust helps support young people through cancer treatment with targeted research and support projects to help alleviate the feeling of loneliness and isolation and have been heavily affected like so many small charities by Covid-19.
Ramsdens’ Marketing Director, Sinéad Sopala, is an ambassador of the charity and will be taking part in the run alongside fellow colleagues Hilary Garnett, Jonathan Cornes, Katie Sharp, Rhys Craddock, Helen Thewlis, Sarah Hodkinson, Danielle Hutchinson, Rachael Sulley, Angela Skinner Louise Blackwell and Ellie Folger.
Sinéad commented: “So many smaller charities have been hit by Covid-19 and unable to host events, so we wanted to help the LCYCT virtually raise much needed funds to allow them to continue the vital work they do in our communities.”
All are welcome to join the challenge, with the charity targeting all skill levels, inviting participants to run, walk or cycle the 13.2 miles on any route of choice.
You can follow the progress of the team by joining the Strava Club and you can support them by donating on their donation page.
