This week we continue to support Child Safety Week run by Child Accident Prevention Trust to raise awareness of the risks of child accidents and how they can be prevented.
Accidents involving children can easily happen inside or outside of the home. There are risks in everything we do but most parents and guardians hope to find the right balance in order to allow children to grow and explore their surroundings. Many accidents are preventable but unfortunately still happen as a result of the negligence of others.
While accidents can take many forms, accidents on the road are the leading cause of accidental death and serious injury of children and can cause life changing injuries such as loss of limbs, brain injury and spinal injury. Those who are responsible for a child should ensure they have knowledge of road safety guidance and communicate this to their child in a way they can easily understand. Risks will always however exist.
Having a child injured can be life changing not only for the child, who may have to live with injuries sustained for the rest of their life, but also for the parents, family and friends living with the consequences. It is essential therefore to ensure the right support is offered to help in such difficult circumstances enabling access to the best treatment, aftercare and rehabilitation.
Ramsdens are committed to assisting those injured and their support network, rehabilitation being at the core and forefront in any claim involving a child due to the negligence of another.
