In an attempt to encourage positive behaviours in clinical negligence litigation, NHS Resolution, the Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers and patient safety charity Action against Medical Accidents have all collaborated on the Covid-19 Clinical Negligence Protocol 2020.

During the first 7 weeks of lockdown in the UK, the police took one call every 30 seconds relating to domestic abuse. The charity Refuge reported a 700% increase in calls to its helpline in a single day. The UN has described the global spike in domestic abuse as a “shadow pandemic” alongside Covid-19.

Suppliers need to diligently monitor their customers, and their contracts with them, for signs of looming insolvency, so the supplier can act before they lose the right to do so under the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020, which, includes, taking away suppliers’ rights in commercial contracts to terminate a contract for non-payment if a customer is insolvent.

​Following this summer’s release of the ‘Athlete A’ documentary on Netflix, which dealt with the concealement of sexual abuse within USA gymnastics, British Gymnastics is also now facing damning accusations of a culture of abuse, as children as young as seven are said to have been abused by their coaches.
