Contract law is a big part of everyday life and businesses enter into contracts on a daily basis with others. These can either be written or verbal.

Contractual disputes can occur when one party is in breach of the contract which causes loss or damage to the other party(ies). For example, not complying with a deadline set in a contract or not making payment when due. There are circumstances when a contract can be rescinded (effectively torn up to put the parties back in the position they were in before entering into the contract) and circumstances where damages for loss can be claimed whilst the contract continues.

Sometimes one party does not understand the terms of the contract or there can be a disagreement as to interpretation of various terms in the contract.
